FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Expressive Animator?

Expressive Animator is a tool specializing in keyframe-based vector animations. The animations are created by interpolating between keyframes, facilitating productivity and fast results with minimal effort.

How does it compare to Adobe After Effects?

Comparing the two apps feature-by-feature is meaningless because of the significant structural differences and scope. The best way to explain the differences between Expressive Animator and After Effects to an Adobe user would be to say that Expressive Animator is like Adobe Illustrator but with animation capabilities.

In other words, Expressive Animator focuses primarily on vectors and provides much better built-in support for vector animation but has only basic raster visual effects.

What kind of animations can I create with Expressive Animator?

Expressive Animator can create various animations, ranging from animated icons and logos to animated illustrations, ad banners, or interactive design assets for websites.

The vector animations created with Expressive Animator are meant to be rendered in real time and can be exported as a self-contained animated SVG file. The resulting SVG file can be used in websites, desktop or mobile applications.

What are the minimum technical requirements?

To run Expressive Animator, you will need a compatible Chromium-based browser like Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera, or Vivaldi. We only support the latest two stable versions of the browser.

The software runs only on desktop and laptop devices, and it requires to have WebGL2 enabled. For optimal performance, we recommend using a computer with dedicated graphics card.
